I am born to be a Go Kart Racer!

My spending spree continues. Go - Karting this time ard. all 13 of us. Damn blardy fun!! (people who went back to Singapore...u guys can eat all you want..just so u noe, we all had a hell of a good time at the tracks with or without u a!!)

Parted with $35 for 30mins, racing along the tracks. I was damn good at it *thick skin*. Somehow my alter ego, aka circuit driver, took over my body the moment I set foot on the tracks. I was that driver on a mean streak, on pretense that i was Michael Schumacher, trying to overtake every other car in front of me. I proved all my detractors wrong. So what if i aint got no license?? Funny how that guy who aint got no license was speeding by everybody else who seemed to be on a SUNDAY DRIVE!!.hah!! (you know who you are, go bury your head deep now!!..hhmmpphh!!) And dont blame it that your go kart was slow..very convenient hor? Its the skill people (ok, maybe your go kart was really slooow, but for now, let me just indulge in self belief that I am imbued with such a knack can?)

Ok enough ego rubbing. The dosage is sufficient for me to get thru the day. I'll just let the pictures do the talking.

I have a vision...I am gonna win!

So good that i cried..the food critique (yes, its an innate skill) gives 5stars!! Tahu Goreng, Ikan Bumbu Bali, Ayam Bakar, Opor Ayam, some lamb meat and Free flow of rice, a total of $16.50 each.

5 stars dinner was followed by 5 stars ice cream located just beside the restaurant. Damn blardy good. Yes, i cried again.. Bought myself a scoop of ice cream for $3.50. I was such a cheapskate, i asked her if it was ok if i'd have 1/2 a scoop of mango and 1/2 a scoop of amereno cherry. She said, ' yeah only for you, coz u are handsome'. Lucky me! But seriously, ice cream damn blardy good larh!

the post exam story - Stereophonics

ok, exams were over 5 days ago (throws confetti, blows balloons..bring on the party!!), or last tueday for the mathematical challenged. I meant to post an entry but have been pretty much snowed under with post exams activity (read: having a GOOOOOD time). That and treating myself to that very much needed sleep.

Ok so what's been happening during these past few days? Lots!! and more to come, this holiday. Which means that my wallet had been scorched, as money have been burnt and it will be in flames soon as I will be spending more on that maiden road trip to NSW come Tuesday. Damnit! Reckon i have to work. Feel lousy if i were to ask more from my mom. I'm all of 25 afterall, I'm a big boy now. Bah!

That aside (think happy thoughts rahman..happy thoughts). Junwei, Alvin and myself went to Stereophonics' concert last friday at The Arena. The venue wasn't that big, think Zouk and accousticaly, it wasn't the best place to hold a concert as the sound was bouncing from wall to wall. Crowd wise, it was mixed with people of varying ages and from what was observed, we were the only Asian guys there.

The concert kicked-off with a guest band (didnt manage to catch their name) at 8.45pm (though concert was to start at 8pm..blardy Aussie!!) performing for a good 40mins or so. They were not that bad I would say, but me being the indie-emo junkie would prefer some other bands any other day.

The 'Guests'

Stereophonics came on only abt early 10-ish. The long wait (burdening my legs as they were entrenched to the floor thw whole tim) was well worth it! Its been a long time since i've ever jumped up and down, head bopping in a concert. They (stereophonics) brought back the youth in me that was lost beneath the abyss of my soul. I told Junwei prior to the concert that I'd rather stand at the back, just appreciating the music. Funny enough, i got myself caught in the moment. Reliving that spirited youth once more.( circa 1997, ash concert) as i jumped and flailed my arms with some aussie blokes beside me (i got separated from Junwei and Alvin). Then again, maybe i was jumping coz of those tall ang mohs who were constantly blocking my view...hhmm..
Now you know why i had to jump...check out those hands infront of me

So yeah the concert.. they started off with Superman (song from thier latest album). Crowd went wild there onwards and thereafter. Fastforward to the near end...They played Dakota (my favourite) during their encore performance. I jumped like there was no tomorrow. Concert ends ard 11.45pm. My legs were sore, neck strained (from the head bopping) and my voice all coarsed. But hell, it was worth every 60 buckerooties that i spent.

The concert made me realise that I too, wanna be an indie rock star. I wanna have my own band, touring around the world. Having fans and groupies idol worshipping my shadows. The band shalt be called...rahman and the rest. yes, you heard me correctly, rahman and the rest. Think it does have a nice ring to it.

my last paper, feels like running 2.4km all over again

Something's wrong with my blog. I'm not too sure if its just me, but everything on the side panel have gone missing. Profile, archives, tagboard...nada!! Arrgghh..i feel really helpless. Somehow i wish i was more techie, but then again i cringe at everything that is incomprehendable to layman (read: Javascript, C+++, html, etc). *sighz*. Ashley if you are reading this, I need your DIVINE intervention!!..and I will wait patiently till your exams are over.

Talking about exams, done are 3 papers. Yinternational Marrrkeding (say it the Jay Weerawardena way), Financial Mgt and Globalisation & Business. Papers were kinda manageable. Not too hard, not too easy. Given that 2 of the papers are of essay based questions (write till my hands went numb throughout 2 hours!!), it could either go my way or the other. Its more or less the case with every other essay based exams i suppose, no?

And now, I have Business Law to worry about. Unlike most other instituitions, UQ's will not be an open book format. Shucks! The cases I have to memorise, the laws stipulating each case, the sections of the law, the latin words (ab initio, caveat emptor, nemo dat quod habet, non est factum, prima facie ..ok ok ..i am showing off..enough!!).

All those to worry about and yet i woke up at 8pm today!!! 11 hours of sleep!*gasps*. Damn weather!!! why must it rain and be all chilly making me snuggle back to the comforts of my duvet??..why?? why??. I have like 4 more topics to go through and have yet to revise the whole thing again. Guess what?? the papers tomorrow!! Blardy weather!!!

I guess i started steam rolling, preparing for my exams a tad too early. Somehow I just lost the will to study towards the very end. Its like running that 2.4click, hoping to get a timing that earns you that gold badge on your army no.4 sleeve. You run too fast in the beginning, only to find yourself gasping for air halfway through. Your legs begin to feel like lead. That sick feeling in your stomach tempting you to vomit. Cold sweat dripping on your body..so guess what? You pratically walk towards the last end.

(hhmm...sounds like me haha, Sebast if you are reading this YOU ARE A LOUSY PACER!!..SGT Jeremy if you are reading this....Why must i do IPPT every time juz because i have a high silver??..why does those with low-average silver get to blardy slack in the bunk???!! I never did want to achieve GOLD anyway...didn't you not know that i served the army with minimum pride??!!!)

So running that too-fast-in-the-beginning-2.4 click is how i feel now. Though I tend to psyche myself to continue mugging, somehow all that self - motivation is somewhat futile. My brain just refuse to listen to my nagging mouth. Where is Anthony Robbins when i need him??!! haha

The Fight Outside and Other Stories (like Enid Blyton like that)

Its 1.47am now and my first paper, International Marketing(MKTG 2504) will commence in abt 6hrs time. And no, i don't intend to sleep. Have been sleeping at 7am this past few days, burning the midnight oil ( or wasting electricity is more aptly used in modern society).

It always best for me to study after 12midnight, where there are hardly any form of distraction. No cars zooming by Coonan st, no kids screaming their lungs out by the playground courtesy of Macdonalds( yes it is oppposite my house) no REALITY TV or good programmes for that matter (though i have been missing Big Brother Uplate and David Letterman), etc.

But lo and behold!! Along came this Caucasion guy, shouting his lungs out by the bus stop without any care in the world that big brother, i mean ppl can blardy hear him. Here i am trying to concentrate on my exams and he came along, spoiling my studying pattern. I was curious, so i tried to peer behind my blinds, trying to make out the commotion. Damn! i can't see shit. I proceed to my bathroom, balancing by the edge of the bathtub..i can see...but it wasnt that clear (blardy trees!!) ..Last resort, went to Junwei's ( been persisting to add a link on his name) room and got him to watch the 'show'. We went to the extent of switching off all the lights so that he won't be able to see us snooping on him. Aaahh..better..

Guy was spewing vulgarities on the phone. He finally stopped. Show ends. Resume mugging. But nnooooo...10mins later i hear the shouting again. This time around, there's another voice. Proceed to Junwei's room. A green car with 2 passengers inside. FIGHT! FIGHT!FIGHT!. To my dismay, nothing of that sort eventuate. Dang! Talk about REALITY!!..very drama..

So i resumed studying or TRY, for that matter. My wandering eyes ended up scanning thru other ppl's blog. Gillian gave me a few good ones. aarrghh..WHY AM I OBSESSED WITH OTHER PPL'S LIFE??!!.I better put an end on this soon..muz be the evolution from watching too much reality shows..*sighz*

I have also realised that my blog seems to take a stance of sounding a tad himbotic and dense. Hhhmm, this is not right. It just doesn't justify my INTELLECTUAL level (dont blardy smirk at me). Maybe I've been reading too many Jason Hahn articles (not blogger, he's a contributor for 8 days). But i take comfort that i do not post entries which reflect on how my days went by (today i woke up at 12noon, i showered, then i watch tv..etc).

Ok enough, back to my revision. I am getting the jitters, its been 3 longs years since i sat for an exam (mid terms were TESTS!!) .

Oh, on one more note, the previous post had some of my friends asking, 'eh how come never pay tribute to us??'. *sigh* The amount of ego boosting i need to undertake..So yes guys, my poly gin gang, my sec sch buddies and my army comrades, i will soon (after exams larh..give me a break) pay u guys a tribute ( macam dead like that).

And before u excitedly proclaim 'OOhhhh..ooohhh!! Rahman's gonna mention us in his blog!!' .. i am gonna stop u dead in ur tracks from the cartwheels u are doing by saying that only CLOSE friends shall be acknowledged. I don't mean to sound arrogant, but to name every ahmad/ah tew/muthusamy will result to more requests from my legions of fans, i mean friends, to do the same.

But cheer up..All is not lost. For $20 i will give you a 4R picture of myself complete with an autographed signature...Collector's item ya' know? How's that?

Those KC girls

1.38am. phone rings. (insert pseudo Aussie accent). hello?

Doris!!..wait a min, i hear another voice..Janet!!..and another voice..Betty!!

It was a pleasant surprise indeed, them calling me to wish me luck, as i rattled on incessantly on the speaker. Trying to upkeep with this fake accent of mine, knowing how it will irritate them like hell.

Janet.Betty.Doris

These are the KC girls. My friends whom i've became close to. Funny how we became this close, given that we knew each other thru that mutual friend whom we are no longer in contact with.

Days of us being 17. days and nights spent aimlessly, smoking over good ol' chua tai ti (is that how u spell it?) together with Ryan, Xavier, Conrad, Ronald, Enne and Yeeling ( i got coke on my pants!!). Billards (sucked and still am sucking at it), hitting town, movies, No Doubt concert and of course Siglap. But with no ryhme nor reason, everyone just parted, and somehow we, who were connected thru them, became close till today.

The 3 girls were there to witness those days where i would dance flailing my arms up and down in a herd like manner to the sounds of retro *gasps*..as we hit Zouk on mambo nites and Samsara on saturdays. (now we juz strain our vocal chords at Kbox, where within the confined room, our aspiration of being a celebrity singer get the better of all of us; less Janet who would choose song but not sing them..but its ok, as long as she pays!!.haha) I would normally hesitate to admit that I was a mambo-goer (its not very cool larh huh), but those days were kinda nostalgic..and i am now in a state of nostalgia *roll eyes*. And..i was good at it, betty's friend can attest to that.

We were that young...Simpang Bedok was always a second home to us. We saw the different life cylce it went thru. From the closure of Zubaidah's, the change of hands of CMK and climating to its commercialised stage now..even though i tend to stray away from commercialised and populated areas, Simpang Bedok with its air of familiarity, remains my watering hole with them and every other friend. Afterall, Simpang Bedok to me, is what Ayers Rock is to the Aborigines.

So guys, thanx for the call. I really could use some familiar voices, whats with the constant mugging that i am going through. And i hell, will sure look forward to u guys and kelvin visiting me next year!!!
(ok ok...their real names are bobo, coco and dodo..i mean Pamela(Doris), Peylene(Betty) and Yenyee(Janet) )

goodbye world

i am committing suicide..my pill of choice? overdose of mugging.

Yes overdose of mugging, for anymore I will die instantaneously. Too much info has been forced
down this already feeble brain of mine. It is now screaming 'INFORMATION OVERLOAD!!'

Well at least when they find my body, they would go, 'Crikey Mate (like as if all Aussies use that term) this guy died with books strewn around him. I reckon he must be some intellect'. The police inspectors then head back to their station (after stopping by the mall to get some doughnuts) and proceed ever sooo slowly to finish up the report (if aussies were malays, they would go..RELAK LAH BRUDDER!!)

ABC, SBS, Channel 7, 9, 10 will cover the story and run a news bulletin every now and then; 'An intellectual and goodlooking Asian guy was found dead in Indooroopilly due to overdose of studying...all this and more in News Tonight'.

It will be a news bulletin because:
1) No one has ever died from an overdose of mugging
2) A goodlooking Asian is a rare species (within the context of 'eye-got-stamp' Aussies that is)

Not only have my brain been overworked, my mouth is now tired from all the potato chips and chocolates that i have been constantly feeding to satiate this perpetual desire of mine. My crave for a midnight fix at Simpang Bedok is also at an all time high. My mind goes 'Simpang Bedoooook..Simpang Bedoooook'.

Anyway, should i go please make sure that all the TV stations and newspapers use this picture.

And no, i won't ask you not to cry for me. Instead please cry..a reservoir full!! And i don't care if you have to fake it.

Ruth's Birthday

It was dear Ruth's 21st celebration yesterday held at the home of the Riverview Terrace Girls(i.e Ashley, Gillian and Yiwen). Turning 21 seemed ages ago for me, though it was only 4 years back. I was then living it up, a life of a careless and somewhat mindless youth throughout; till the age of 21 starts beckoning me. The age of becomings...

Looking back, i reckon i have somehow mellowed down. These days, i rather spend time at home (being the TV addict me) or if i were to go out, it will always a get-together over coffee. No longer the spirited youth, who hogs the streets where the clubs call home. It is always nice to travel down memory lane, being that careless teenager again, not caring about the life ahead..all spirited and carefree...but somehow, I am glad i have grown..

Ok, enough melancholy..

Ruth's birthday was splendid. A great way to usher one's turning of age. Reckon there were 20-odd of us . Cake, pizzas, mashed potatoes and the rest (or one) being wasted on beers and liquers in the earler morn. So Ruth if you are reading this.. Happy 21st!! Life has juz begun =)

tech goon me

i can be such an imbecile especially for matters pertaining to technology. I am all hyped in blogging seeing how fancy schmancy everyone else's are. So i thought it aint rocket science at all to have one that looks all dandy. I am so wrong. Coz blogspot has only a few SIMPLE templates to offer. Anymore than that, you have got to DIY which contains freaking java scripts(are they java scripts) which neantherdal me can't comprehend.

So i don't get it how are there like kids ard thier early teens, who come up with such intricate blogs? So here i am a tech goon at all of 25 who scored a distinction for Business Info Systems and topping my class for the term test in that subject (ego rubbing myself can??..give me a break i need something to feel good) and not having a clue to matters pertaining to computers I remember going to SITEX in sometime Oct or Nov last year to get myself a laptop. Every booth i visited asked "What type of laptop do you need?" and I go "hhmm...I just need a laptop for my studies, something i can type for projects etc" and they go "how many RAMs ? Speed? "

I was like "hhhmm..what do you have to offer?" ( i obviously didnt have any clue what RAM and Speed is considered good these days..but tried to surpress any goon effect by counter asking the above) ...*sighz*

Ok so big deal, i am lousy wif gizmo schmizmo. Ask me abt countries, maps and capital cities, I will bloody answer all of them..ok not all..but MOST! damnit! *growlz*

So yesterday, 'keeping up with the jones' ' me, decided that i too shall have a tagboard, since i've notice its a ubiquitous these days. And to no surprise, i screwed up my blog upon my attempt in downloading. Thank god Ashley came to my help and for about 30 mins or so.. all is good.

In a totally different topic altogether, Junwei and me bought a lil cake for our now-and-then housemate Ruth for its her 21st. Surprised her by her security door and took some pics
